GRENITE™ COMPOSED SURFACES;
FROM AEROSPACE TO RETAIL SURFACE SPACE.
In an industry that’s driven
by appearances, keeping up the appearance of the sales
floors, shelves and counters has been a constant maintenance
chore. Grenite™, a patented new surface material
introduced by Greneker Solutions, a long time retail
products provider, is designed to change that.
“The industry has been crying
for this product,” announces Erik Johnson, President
and CEO of Greneker Solutions. “Here’s why;
a surface that keeps up its designed look and beauty
by itself requires less maintenance. This time can then
be spent updating the visual presentation of the store
and its offerings. The net result of these efforts will
show up right where it counts, in the improved bottom-line.
That’s why we’re calling Grenite™
the next big breakthrough in retailing.”
So what makes Grenite™ different
from Corian®, Silestone®, stainless steel and
the other currently available surface materials?
“The driving concept which
led to the development of Grenite™ is unique.
This gives Grenite™ features and benefits that
aren’t available in any other surface material.”
John Carpenter, the composite engineer
who invented Grenite™, further notes, “Grenite™
is really a commercial application of a long study into
ultra-high performance composite materials engineering.
The program which Grenite™ came out of was researching
and developing materials to help further the capabilities
of the U.S. aerospace programs. Grenite™ is really
over-engineered for use as a retail surface.”
“And that’s exactly why
Grenite™ is perfect for today’s retailer,”
says Erik Johnson. “Look at its benefits:
• It delivers superior scratch
resistance. Grenite™ is so hard that one of the
guys at Greneker Solutions uses it to file the sharp
edges off of keys which we use in the Grenite™
demonstration kits - we don’t want anyone getting
accidently cut by sharp points or edges.
• Grenite is manufactured using
a cold pour mold method of production. This gives Grenite
extreme capability as well as very high tolerance accuracy
to produce complex shapes or designs. Any required design
feature can be built right in instead of added on later.”
• “Additionally, Grenite™
was designed with a ‘Green’ consciousness,”
reports John Carpenter. “Grenite™ is a ceramic
based product. When we were first developing Grenite™
the best source of ceramic material was the retired
waste of the steel industry.” “Grenite™
can be built with up to 85% post industrial waste. Even
better, 100% of manufactured Grenite™ can be recycled
to make new Grenite. By design it is a cradle to cradle
product.”
Grenite™ does not require a
new infrastructure to be used. Greneker Solutions can
provide all the engineering/mold-making expertise required.
Grenite™ is available in many
colors and the manufacturer can even custom match many
customer supplied color samples.
On-site, Grenite™ can be installed
by the same contractors who currently install Corian®,
marble or other surface materials.
About the only problem we’ve
found with Grenite™ is that its name is often
a misspelling for granite, another material used in
surface applications. Thus an internet search for Grenite™
can lead one to the wrong product!
