1. How do I repair scratched Grenite?
First, check carefully to be sure that the Grenite surface is really scratched. Because Grenite is so hard, what looks like scratches are often the result of the material being ground off of the “scratcher” and left on the Grenite surface. These can be removed with ordinary cleaners.
Fine scratches can be repaired with mineral oil or a cleaner type of automotive wax. Apply to a cloth; rub the scratch and surrounding area until removed.
Light buffing with very fine wet-dry sandpaper or steel wool will remove scratches and restore the Grenite surface. (Apply carefully! Surface can become mis-matched to other areas by over-sanding!)
2. How do I repair a damaged section of Grenite?
For deep gouges and chips, Grenite is repairable by adding Grenite in its uncured (liquid) state to the damaged area.
(Contact your Grenite representative for this.) In approximately six hours the Grenite piece will be ready to enter service again.
3. Is Grenite usable in food preparation applications?
As a solid, waterproof, nonpourous surface, Grenite doesn’t offer germs or bacteria a place to establish a foothold to grow. Grenite requires sanitation and maintenance procedures comparable to any other surface that’s used for food preparation.
4. How does Grenite get made to my special specifications?
All Grenite is custom made. Our engineering team reviews your design specifications and determines the best method for producing Grenite to meet your specifications.
5. How does Grenite get installed.
Grenite can be installed by any masonry expert utilizing the same principles and tools that are required to install marble or granite.
6. How do I recycle Grenite?
Grenite is manufactured under license. As part of the license agreement, our manufacturers use their distribution networks to retrieve Grenite for reuse in the manufacturing system. Contact your Grenite representative for more details.
